"Be more specific"

The vibe? It's 1969, David Manusco is about to open The Loft in New York City, the beginning dawn of the disco movement, but you're in Miami, which has, from its swampy  uncultivated ground managed to none-the-less burgeon its own reputation as a cultural hub for the last half decade. Its music and cultural backdrop is one that blends soul, funk, and Latin rhythms with Art Deco splendor, and non conformist charm. The energy of the new year is percolating, and it is a moment of creativity, expression, and celebration.

"Be less specific"

Dress up, feel fabulous, but there are no rules.

Keep an eye out...

We'll be adding weekend activities here as the day approaches.

Things to do

Virginia Key and Bill Baggs State Park

Head here for water sports, exploring, and chilling. Highlights include the Cape Florida lighthouse and The Cleat in Bill Baggs State Park, beach hangs and The Open Seas Cafe in Crandon Beach Park, and Miami Watersports: Sailing Center just off the causeway as you enter the Key.

Miami Beach

Art Deco vibes, touristy attractions, pretty beaches for swimming. Get tickets for a show at The Bandshell, or grab a Pub Sub (specifically a chicken tender sub on Italian plus your fixings) and people-watch on the white sand.

Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden

Long walks, beautiful scenery, protected and rare plant and butterfly species.

Oleta State Park

For Kayaking through mangroves or cycle trails and picnics on the beach.

Fruit and Spice Park

Take a walk through 37-acres of botanical garden and park containing over 500 varieties of fruit, vegetables, spices, and herbs. A little bit of a hike to get to but worth it.

Robert is Here

Everglades

We are so grateful that so many of you are traveling long distances and forgoing other seasonal traditions to celebrate with us, so I hope it goes without saying that your presence is truly present enough. If you do feel moved to, we have started a family fund that we plan to put towards our life together: Home costs, family vacations, Frankie's penchant for organic berries and choice cut steaks.
